People and Performance Manager
Great HR is rarely about having all the answers.
It’s about asking the right questions. Knowing when to step in and when to let a leader lead. Seeing what’s coming before it lands. And understanding that the best solution on paper isn’t always the best solution for the business.
That’s the kind of People & Performance Manager we’re looking for.
This is a new role in our People, Performance & Safety team at Reflections Holidays, and it’s a little different from a traditional HR Manager role.
You’ll lead our day-to-day People partnering function, coach and develop a small HR team, represent People at NavCo: our cross-functional leadership group and still stay close to the action with a business partnering portfolio of your own.
In other words, you’ll lead and do.
What you'll be getting into
Reflections is a diverse, operational business with holiday parks and teams spread across some of the best parts of NSW. That means the work is varied.
One day you might be coaching a Regional Manager through a tricky people issue. The next you’re spotting a workforce trend across several parks, working through a change, helping a BP test their thinking or bringing the People perspective into a broader business conversation at NavCo.
You'll have a People & Performance Business Partner and Coordinator in your team, and you'll work alongside our Engagement and Safety leaders as part of the broader People, Performance & Safety function.
Your job isn't to personally solve everything. It's to make the whole HR function stronger.
You'll spend your time...
- Leading and developing our HR team, while staying hands-on with your own regional partnering portfolio
- Helping leaders navigate the people stuff that matters — performance, ER, workforce planning and change
- Connecting the dots across the business, spotting patterns and deciding where our HR effort will have the greatest impact
- Being a trusted sounding board when things get complex, while building the capability of others to confidently handle more
- Representing People at NavCo, bringing workforce insight into cross-functional decisions and turning business conversations into practical People priorities
- Making HR simpler and better — improving how we work and knowing what genuinely needs executive attention
We're interested in how you think
You'll need strong HR foundations. You'll be comfortable with employee relations, performance, organisational change, workforce planning, and coaching leaders.
But we're equally interested in your judgement.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Gets curious before jumping to an answer and is comfortable making a call when there isn't a perfect one
- Can challenge and influence without losing the relationship
- Sees patterns, not just individual HR problems, and anticipates what the business might need next
- Gets a kick out of growing other HR professionals and doesn't need to be the person with all the answers
- Moves comfortably between strategic conversations and rolling up their sleeves
- Builds credibility through how they show up, understands operations, keeps things practical and brings some personality to work
You might already be leading a small People team.
Or you might be an accomplished Senior HR Business Partner ready to take the next step into people leadership without giving up the part of business partnering you love.
Either could work.
A little about us
Reflections Holidays is NSW’s largest holiday park group, with destinations stretching across some extraordinary parts of the state.
Our Newcastle-based support office works alongside teams spread across our parks and operations, so this isn’t HR from a distance. Getting out into the business, understanding how our people actually work and building relationships with leaders matters.
Our values are simple: Care Deeply. Say It, Do It. Make a Difference. Grow Together.
They matter to how this role operates too.
What’s on offer
- Newcastle-based role with flexible working
- Additional leave benefits
- Great holiday and accommodation perks
- A genuinely broad operational People role
- A seat at NavCo and exposure across the business
- The opportunity to lead and shape a small HR team while remaining close to the work
Most importantly, this is a role with room to make a difference.
We’re not looking for someone to arrive with a pre-written HR playbook.
Bring your experience. Bring your judgement. Ask good questions. Get to know our business. Then help us make it better.
