Financial Accountant


The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to lead our core financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial systems, compliance, and reporting. 

You’ll oversee the Finance Administration team responsible for accounts payable, receivable, and transactional processing, while also managing fixed asset accounting and supporting tax compliance. Partnering closely with Senior Finance Leaders, you’ll help shape efficient processes, drive improvements, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of our financial data.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including AP, AR, and general ledger processes.
  • Ensure accurate month-end reconciliations, coding, and posting of transactions.
  • Prepare monthly project reporting and associated cashflow reports.
  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, including depreciation and audits.
  • Manage compliance with GST, BAS, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations.
  • Prepare and lodge statutory returns on time.
  • Lead and develop the Finance Administration team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
  • Manage, track and report on loan facilities and provide cashflow reporting

About You

You’re detail-driven and thrive on maintaining precision in financial operations while leading a team to success. You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in managing AP, AR, and general ledger processes.
  • Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting, reconciliations, and tax compliance.
  • Leadership experience in a finance environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Dynamics 365 or equivalent).
  • Commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to prioritise and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • (Desirable) CA/CPA qualification and 5+ years’ financial accounting experience.
